Fairbourne Railway. 1963/08/29. 4-6-2 "Ernest W. Twining" carries the number 57512 and an approximation of Caledonian Railway blue livery with black and white lining as it makes its way with a well loaded train from Fairbourne to the Barmouth Ferry at Penrhyn Point on Thursday 29th August 1963. At this time the railway was 15" gauge, it was later sold and re-gauged to 12.25". This engine was built by Guest Engineering in 1950 for the Dudley Zoo Railway and was subsequently loaned to the Fairbourne Railway. It was bought for the railway in 1964 before being sold again and exported to Japan in 1987. Slide No. 333.
