68023 "Achilles", Bletchley Up & Down Relief 2, 1Z68, 23rd June 2016
This train was originally planned as the ECS from Crewe to Euston to form the "Three Peaks Challenge by Train" tour but became the Branch Line Society's "Achilles Heel Trekker", 1Z68, 11:12 from Crewe to Wembley Central via various loops rarely used in passenger service. Here the train, headed by DRS 68023 "Achilles", with 57301 on the rear, is coming off the Up and Down Relief Line 2 into platform 5 at Bletchley station, having diverged from the up slow line at Denbigh Hall South Junction. After dropping passengers at Wembley Central station, the train continued as 5Z68 to Euston to form 1Z51, the 15:50 to Bangor, the first leg of the "Three Peaks" tour. 13:29½, Thursday 23rd June 2016.
