5043, Clattercote Crossing, 15th October 2011
Just a few minutes after sunrise and with the temperature just above freezing, GWR Castle Class 4-6-0 No. 5043 "Earl of Mount Edgcumbe" puts on a wonderful display as it heads south at Clattercote crossing with 1Z43, the Oxford University Railway Society 80th Anniversary special train. This departed from Solihull at 07:05 and was heading for Bath via the Berks & Hants line. 08:02, Saturday 15th October 2011. Photo taken from a public footpath across the line. Digital Image No. GMPI10413.

on April 24, 2012I love the clarity of the train, the lighting on the train, and the cool things that the smoke is doing in this photograph! Excellent! Thank you for today's lesson!

on April 24, 2012Very nice capture Geoff. The composition works well here, with excellent light and detail seen on the train, and that great trail of smoke.
Thanks, enjoyed!
