Fairbourne Railway. 1964/07/29. Bassett-Lowke "Sans Pareil" Class 30 4-4-2 "Count Louis" backs down onto its train at the Fairbourne terminus, which stood adjacent but at ninety degrees to the Cambrian line (part of the standard gauge station can be seen on the far left of the picture). The engine was built for Count Louis Zborowski in 1924 and spent its life until 1987 on the Fairbourne Railway where it was rebuilt with a larger tender. It is now being restored to its original condition at a private site. After the line was sold and re-gauged this terminus was radically altered as well. Wednesday 27th July 1964. Slide No. 888.
