DR No. 99 1594-3, Wilkau-Haßlau, 15th September 1971
Former Saxon Railways 750mm gauge Class IV K Meyer 0-4-4-0T, DR No. 99 1594-3 awaits a main line connection and departure time at Wilkau-Haßlau station with a train for Kirchberg on Wednesday 15th September 1971. These locos are four cylinder compound articulated engines with the high pressure cylinders on the rear bogie and the low pressure cylinders on the front bogie, the cylinders mounted on the inside ends of the bogies. Several members of the class are still at work in Saxony, though not on this line which closed soon after these pictures were taken. Slide No. 7674.
