46100 "Royal Scot", Grosmont, 26th March 2017
Having stood in the station at Grosmont for around thirty minutes prior to departure, in the chill early morning, it was obvious that the cylinder cocks of 46100 "Royal Scot" would be open for a considerable time as it got away with the 09:30 train to Pickering. I opted to remain on the station platform for a "going-away" shot, the cocks being open all the way to the tunnel. The beautiful morning light highlights the engine's nameplate, celebrating its visit to the USA and Canada in 1933. 09:32¼, Sunday 26th March 2017. Digital Image No. IGMP24526.
