Nothing ventured, nothing gained! Not a brilliant shot, but this sort of thing doesn't happen very often! WCRC 37685 leads 5Z32, the Royal Scotsman ECS, through Haddenham & Thame Parkway station with 57001 on the rear. This was part of the Grand Tour of Britain by the train over several days, starting the day from Hereford and heading for Bath Spa. It then travelled via Swindon to Oxford where the passengers were taken to Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons for dinner. Meanwhile, the ECS ran from Oxford via reversal at Banbury to High Wycombe, this is the train seen here passing through a few minutes early at 21:42. It then reversed again at High Wycombe to return to Haddenham, arriving at 22:38. The passengers then boarded again and the train departed at 22:46 as 1Z32, to Banbury, Oxford, Reading and by devious means to Fletton (Peterborough) to arrive at 04:13... Tuesday 12th July 2011. The rear of the train is illuminated by the approaching Chiltern 168, the 21:42 to Stourbridge Junction. Digital Image No. GMPI9694. 1/60th @ f2.8 ISO 3200.
