DR No. 01 0533-8, Bebra, 21st January 1973
DR rebuilt 01.5 Class 4-6-2s worked over the border from Erfurt to Bebra in West Germany with several passenger expresses each day. No. 01 0533-8 has been turned and serviced at the loco depot alongside the station in Bebra, and is now backing down onto the coaches of train D455, the 13:55 express to Frankfurt-an-Oder, on the border with Poland, which the engine worked as far as Erfurt. This is one of the oil-fired locos, some were coal-fired (in which case they were numbered in the 01 15xx series). Several locos were fitted with BoxPok type wheels instead of normal spoked wheels.
