In dreadful lighting conditons, rebuilt DB 01 Class 4-6-2 No. 001 187-4 passes under a farm crossing bridge alongside Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg's approach signals as it commences the assault on the five-mile "Schiefe Ebene" 1 in 40 gradient to Marktschorgast with train E659, the 12:08 semi-fast from Bamberg to Hof on a Monday afternoon in April 1972.
