044 268-1, Prinzenkopf Tunnel, 5th April 1971
DB 3-cylinder 2-10-0 No. 044 268-1 bursts out of Prinzenkopf Tunnel on the line along the Mosel valley from Koblenz to Trier, in charge of a freight train heading for Trier. The railway comes across a viaduct over the river immediately at the other end of the tunnel, the far bank has the station at Bullay and the nearside is close to the village of Alf. Bullay's semaphore distant signal (Formvorsignal), on the right of the picture, is showing that the next main signal (Formhauptsignal) will be showing clear with line speed, for a train about to enter the tunnel. Monday 5th April 1971. Slide No. 6528.
