34050, Winchfield Cutting, 11th April 1964
Bulleid rebuilt "Battle of Britain" Class 4-6-2 No. 34050 "Royal Observer Corps" was another engine still quite clean and it is seen passing under the Potbridge Road bridge in Winchfield Cutting with an up express from Bournemouth to Waterloo on Saturday 11th April 1964. 34050 was built at Brighton Works as 21C150 and entered service in December 1946. It was rebuilt at Eastleigh Works in August 1958. At this stage of its career it was a Nine Elms engine and was reallocated to Eastleigh during September 1964. Withdrawn from Eastleigh in August 1965 it was stored there until November 1965, then moved to Bird's, Morriston, Swansea, where it was scrapped in December 1965. Slide No. 585.
