PS Wingfield Castle, Hull, 31st August 1971
One of the LNER built paddle steamers which sailed the ferry service from Hull to New Holland Pier across the Humber estuary, departing from Hull with another load of passengers and cars on the afternoon of Tuesday 31st August 1971. The service ended with the opening of the Humber bridge in 1981, latterly operated solely by "Farringford" after PS "Lincoln Castle" was withdrawn in 1978. Slide No. 7438.
