Ruswarp station on the Esk Valley line looking towards Whitby from the bridge over the River Esk, before the track was singled from Whitby to Grosmont. The signalbox was manned by Charlie Hart (aka "Chas"), one of the founder members of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, who moved to Whitby 'box after the line was singled. The gates have been replaced by barriers and lights and the 'box is long gone, there are now houses between the railway and the river. The station building still stands as a private house and the "Bridge Inn" is still doing business. March 1969. Larpool viaduct, seen beyond the signalbox, carried the line from Scarborough to Whitby West Cliff over the Esk Valley. Slide No. 3616.
