Another fairly significant snowfall occurred on the night of January 31st into 1st February 2019, so just a few local shots to start things off! By the end of the month, the weather had turned unseasonably warm for a trip to the North East of England.

56049 & 56078, Thorpe Road Level-Crossing, 6E32, 26th February 2019
Under a cloudless blue sky on a very warm February day, Colas Class 56s Nos. 56049 "Robin of Templecombe" and 56078 are double-heading 6E32, the 10:02 empty tanks from Colas Ribble Rail to Lindsey Oil Refinery. They have just passed Thorpe Marsh Junction and about to pass Thorpe Road level-crossing and the bridge over the River Don and Dun Navigation (Stainforth & Keadby Canal) near Barnby Dun. The area to the left of the picture was the site of Thorpe Marsh Power Station, constructed from 1959 and opened in 1967, it closed in 1994 and the cooling towers were demolished in 2012. 12:57¾, Tuesday 26th March 2019.
