Freemans Crossing Signal Box, 25th February 2019
General view of Freemans Signalbox and level-crossing, looking towards Cambois and North Blyth. Only one track still in use here, though it opens out to double-track just behind the camera position. The BR (NER) Type 16b signal box opened in 1956 and originally controlled the sidings for Blyth (Cambois) Power Station, the lines to West Blyth Staithes and North Blyth MPD, all by electrical control. Around 2010, all remaining signals were replaced by stop boards, except entry from/exit to Winning Signal Box. 11:07¾, Monday 25th February 2019. Digital Image No. IGMP44777.
