168 003, Bicester South Junction, 1R32, 20th January 2015
168 003 has just passed the site of the new Bicester South Junction on the approach to Bicester North station, and is now crossing the bridge over the East-West line where wagons of ballast are standing. The new chord to Gavray Junction on the East-West line to Oxford can be seen through the pipes in the foreground. Track is laid on most of the chord and the first ballast trains had run over the line a couple of nights before, the junction with Chiltern's main line has yet to be completed. The footpath is closed beyond this point at the moment, though the new footbridge is complete it still cannot be accessed for the time being. The train is 1R32, the 12:15 from Marylebone to Birmingham Moor Street, first stop at Banbury. 12:55½, Tuesday 20th January 2015.
