General view of Banbury station, looking south. A new platform 4 is being constructed, extended over the site of the original north bay - the old Platform 4, south bay has been abolished and the new platform will be extended south of the station building to form a new through platform. Initially, this will only be for short trains at one end or the other, the new platform will be too narrow for safe usage alongside the station building. What was the Up Goods Loop line has been upgraded to form the track through the new platform and a new Goods Loop has been laid alongside. All the old sidngs here have now been taken out of use. 165 035 stands in the other north bay - this will also be taken out of use under the new track layout. 13:06, Friday 29th July 2016.
