Signal Dismantling, Princes Risborough, 3rd March 1991
Friday 1st March 1991 saw the final day of the semaphore signalling controlled by Princes Risborough North Signal Box and the replacement colour light signalling, contolled from Marylebone, was commissioned over the following weekend, during an engineering possession. As part of the exercise, members of the S&T department of the Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway Association recover parts of the old semaphores for further use on their line, eventually. In the background near the signal box is a 0-4-0DM with a Lowmac well wagon to be loaded with reduntant materials to return to Chinnor. As part of the re-signalling, the track layout was also altered with a different access to the Thame & Chinnor lines, the older tracks in the process of being removed. Sunday 3rd March 1991. Slide No. 21600.
