68015, Oxford Platform 4, 1Y25, 26th July 2017
On an utterly foul morning, Chiltern's 68015 stands in the pouring rain at Oxford station's Platform 4 with set AL05, the "slam-door set" of LHCS, with DVT 82305 on the other end. It had arrived as 1T12, the 07:40 from Marylebone, which is normally a unit but during the blockade between Oxford and Didcot Chiltern were running augmented services as no GWR services were running southwards beyond here. The train has stopped short of the temporary stopblocks erected on Platforms 3 & 4 during the blockade. The train returned as 1Y25, the 09:05 departure to Marylebone. The slam-door set normally only works the morning and evening peak services between Bicester North and Marylebone, it had worked to Oxford Parkway previously for extra services to and from Wembley events, but this week was the first time it had worked through to Oxford. GWR unit No. 166 209 stands in Platform 3 between duties. 08:54¾, Wednesday 26th July 2017. Digital Image No. GMPK3418.
