70809, Bicester, Gavray Junction, 6C32, 20th January 2015
70809 is on the Bletchley end of the train while 70804 (out of sight beyond the bridge under the Chiltern main line) is on the Oxford end of ballast wagons for the new chord from Gavray Junction to Bicester South Junction, which though incomplete had seen its first train a couple of nights before, a similar ballast train to this one. This was the 22:58 (the night before) from Hinksey Yard via Banbury, Princes Risborough and Aylesbury to Claydon L&NE Junction, then into the possession (headcode 6C32 - thanks to Jim the driver!). The train was not due to depart until the following morning, due away from Claydon at 03:00 to return to Bescot. 11:53½, Tuesday 20th January 2015. Photo taken from Jarvis Lane foot-crossing.
