LNER Society "The Gresley Centenarian", Euston - Carnforth electric-hauled, B1 + Black 5 Carnforth - Leeds, LNWR No. 790 + 92220 Leeds - Harrogate - York, Class 40 diesel York - Church Fenton - Leeds, A3 4472 Leeds - Carnforth, electric Carnforth - Euston. Saturday 19th June 1976. LNER B1 No. 1306 "Mayflower" is piloting "Black 5" No. 45407 having just passed over Apperley Viaduct heading for Leeds. The photo is taken from Walk Hill Bridge which now leads into the new car park for the re-sited Apperley Bridge Station, opened in 2015, the Leeds-bound platform now occupying the area to the right of the train, as viewed.
