2005, Bog Hall, Whitby, July 1975
LNER Class K1 2-6-0 No. 2005 ran a series of shuttle trains from Whitby to Battersby in July 1975. After returning to Whitby, the engine has run round its train which it is now propelling back into the station near Bog Hall. St Mary's church and the Abbey dominate the skyline on the east cliff, as they do to this day, but the area between the railway and the River Esk is now built up with a supermarket, car parks and a larger marina. July 1975. The railway is now very basic at Whitby, though run-round facilities do still exist. Slide No. 13286.
