GWR 4-4-0s were not exactly thick on the ground in 1989, so to get two in one shot - and both in steam - was quite something! On the left is "City" class No. 3440 "City of Truro" preparing to go off shed to work a special train to Stratford-upon-Avon, whilst on the right is "Dukedog" No. 3217 "Earl of Berkeley". Both are at the Didcot Railway Centre, based in the former steam shed on the morning of Saturday 13th May 1989. Slide No. 19832.
