British Industrial Systems
As steam traction was run down on BR lines, so interest in industrial systems rose. There were many places around the country with a wealth of ancient and modern machines still hard at work in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Here are just a few to start with, the pictures are in chronological order, oldest first. Plenty more to be added!

Despite it being a Sunday, work continues at Staveley Iron Works, where ex-Midland Railway Johnson "half-cab" 1F 0-6-0T No. 41763 is shunting in the yard. Apparently, the works had a very long contract with the Midland Railway to provide motive power and this was the reason that the locos used here outlasted their classmates elsewhere! 11th April 1965.
