Beeches Light Railway
The Beeches Light Railway is Adrian Shooter's privately owned 2 foot gauge line in Oxfordshire, based on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway in India. Several open days a year are held and I was privileged to be allowed to visit on one of these occasions, and what a wonderful day! Many thanks to all concerned, Mr Shooter and his family, railway staff and caterers. If you get the opportunity to go, grab it! This visit was made on Good Friday, 2nd April 2010. More pictures to add, as usual...

The Simplex has now moved the coal wagons under the hoist over the main line and Jeremy Davey is operating the pulleys to lift a bag of coal off the wagon. Once it is high enough it is moved to one side, the coal train moved and the steam loco brought under the hoist for the tender to be filled. Two bags were required to fill the tender. 12:09, Friday 2nd April 2010. Digital Image No. GMPI4891.
