BLS "South Gosforth Avoider", 24th February 2019

BLS "South Gosforth Avoider", New Bridge Street Tunnel, 24th February 2019
After a reversal at Manors Platform 1, the BLS "South Gosforth Avoider" tour train was routed into Stoddart Street Siding No.1 and then reversed again in order to access Siding No. 2. This involved using the shunt neck which utilises part of the short tunnel under New Bridge Street, the first part of the erstwhile Quayside Branch. The tunnel to the quayside started a few hundred yards further on and is now long gone. The bufferstops are half-way through this tunnel and this is the limit of the line! Photo taken on my behalf by one of our Metro drivers (whilst I'm sitting in the driver's seat!). 11:25½, Sunday 24th February 2019. Digital Image No. IGMP44182.
