BLS "Ruby Shoesday", 28th October 2018
This was another wonderful tour organised by the Branch Line Society, marking 40 years of Merseyrail and raising funds for the Merseyside and Cheshire Blood Bikes Charity. Run on a cold but gloriously sunny day, over £7,500 was raised and a great time had by all. Thanks to all involved in this venture. As usual, a few pictures to start things off, more to add as time permits.

92102, Hooton, 7th May 1966
Hooton as it used to be... Seen from a DMU bound towards Birkenhead from Chester, BR Standard 9F 2-10-0 No. 92102 is heading south light engine through Hooton station, watched by a lone enthusiast on the platform. Scrawled in chalk on the smokebox door is the headcode 4Z25, not applicable at that moment! Note the water column on the platform, complete with coal fired brazier to stop it from freezing in winter, hopefully not required by this time! Saturday 7th May 1966. Slide No. 2007.
