BLS Great Western Tracker II
The tour started from Bristol Temple Meads running as 2Z10 to Exeter St. David's, then as 2Z11 to Plymouth, 2Z12 to Goodrington Carriage Holding Sidings and finally as 2Z13 from Goodrington CHS to Bristol Temple Meads via some very interesting routes!
Thanks to all at BLS for asking me along and also to FGW staff for their help during the day, especially Don Church, FGW Competence Manager, who took the photos on my behalf from ground locations at non-station stops.
FGW Tracker Tour II, Weston Mill Viaduct, 2Z12, 12th October 2013
After departing from Plymouth westwards, now running as 2Z12 to Goodrington Carriage Holding Sidings, 150 927 with the Great Western Tracker II tour was due to reverse at Keyham West Ground Frame to cross from the down to up line and enter Keyham Yard. Arriving here on time it was discovered that the ground frame could not be operated due to lack of use and some twenty minutes were lost whilst efforts were made to free the ground frame. This is the view from what should have been the rear cab of the unit looking towards Weston Mill viaduct by Devonport Dockyard. As the crossover could not be made to work, the train eventually continued westward over the Royal Albert Bridge to Saltash so that it could regain the up line back to Keyham! 14:39, Saturday 12th October 2013.
