67018 "Keith Heller" in a somewhat unusual move at Princes Risborough... This train normally stops at Princes Risborough when it is running as 1H08, the 06:53 from Banbury to Marylebone, but it seems problems were encountered when the train was running as 5U08, the ECS from Wembley LMD to Banbury. Accordingly, 1H08 was cancelled but ran as 5H08 (?) in order to return to Wembley for attention and to be in the right place to work the down train to Banbury later. The train was running a few minutes late and as can be seen, the points are set for a train to arrive from Aylesbury, this being the 07:44 to depart from Princes Risborough. So 67018 is running on the newly opened through line and kicking up a cloud of ballast dust - was this the first working to use the new line "in anger" as it were? At the moment there is a TSR over this line until it beds in. The train is about to pass under the gantry with its newly commissioned signals, though there was a overrun of almost 48 hours for the new signalling works to be commissioned. 07:41, Tuesday 30th August 2011. Further to the above, the train is in fact 1H08 and was carrying passengers. It was turned round at Bicester North but departed 15 minutes late due to CDL problems and it was decided that the Risborough stop would be omitted in order to make up some time. This was indeed the first passenger train to use the new through line... Digital Image No. GMPI10189.
