On the left is the signal on the up platform line south of Princes Risborough, ME162, consisting of a single LED aspect that shows red, yellow or green. It also has a supplementary shunt signal and theatre indicator, presumably for moves over the crossover to the down line a little further south. Beyond is a newly erected signal adjacent to the new through line, which I assumed would control up trains, but it seems the signal head is facing south for down trains. The access ladder is also on the south side of the signal, normally these are to the rear of the signal head, as in the foreground signal - is a second head facing the other way still to be added to this structure? It seems that in this photo, the signal head is only temporarily placed on the post and was later positioned correctly to become the up through line signal as expected. It has now been renumbered ME162 and the nearer signal is now ME164. 07:50, Monday 8th August 2011. Digital Image No. GMPI9997.
