Arnside Signal Box, 21st April 2017
An architectural gem! And the old stone building beyond it is quite nice too... On a cold and blustery day with the odd bright period, the signal box at Arnside is seen from the station footbridge, on the south side of the Kent Channel, the Kent Viaduct just out of picture to the left, beyond the box's down home signal in the "off" position. The signal box is Grade II listed and is a Furness Railway Type 4, built in 1897. 15:49¼, Friday 21st April 2017. The old branch line which went to Hincaster Junction on the WCML diverged to the right of the platform end along the shoreline. Digital Image No. IGMP25621.
