PlumbLoco  > Trains > New Additions!
As there are now quite a large number of photos on the site, it is becoming difficult to find newly added shots to established collections, so in future I will add new shots here for a few days before transferring them to their relevant collections. Newly added collections will continue as before - I hope that makes sense!

Portugal. Henschel metre gauge 2-8-2T No. E144 (21878/1931) crosses the viaduct over the Rio Ave just south of Vila do Conde with a train from Porto Trindade to Póvoa de Varzim on Monday 3rd November 1969. It looks like Monday was washday as some of the locals use the river and some large stones - how times have changed! Slide No. 4332.

Portugal. E97 was a 2-6-0T built by Orenstein & Koppel, No. 5757 of 1913 and is seen here taking water at Agueda station whilst at the head of a mixed train from Aveiro to Sernada do Vouga on Sunday 9th November 1969. Though no longer steam worked, this line is still in existence, as is the chimney in the background, though nowadays it seems to be some sort of preserved monument in the middle of a carpark! Slide No. 4638.
Portugal. CP metre gauge Henschel 2-8-2T No. E143 is working an evening train from Póvoa de Varzim to Porto Trindade, just before sunset on Monday 3rd November 1969. Slide No. 4376.
Portugal. Metre-gauge Henschel Mallet 0-4-4-0T No. E169 catches the last rays of the evening sunshine as it brings its wonderful train of four-wheeled coaches and a van along the somewhat switchback track near Francos with a working from Senhora da Hora to Porto Trindade. Monday 3rd November 1969. Slide No. 4381.
Portugal. View overlooking Porto Boa Vista depot from the through platforms to Porto Trindade, showing the original terminus now in use as carriage stabling, as well as the steam loco shed. In the right foreground is E114, a 2-6-0T built by Kessler in 1907, this engine with outside Stephenson Link Valve Motion. All are being prepared for the early morning trains on Monday 3rd November 1969. Slide No. 4312.
West Coast Main Line. Sunday 27th December 1964 was another lovely day at Willesden MPD (1A)! The shed area is mostly occupied by steam engines, and most are in steam ready for the following day's work. Over on the far left a couple of Class 24 diesels are lurking in front of the roundhouse, then Fairburn 2-6-4T No. 42071 alongside Standard 4MT 2-6-0 No. 76039. The remainder of the engines are unidentified, but seem to be mostly Standard types, a "Black 5" and more 2-6-4Ts. Slide No. 1137.
