From the Geoff Plumb Collection of original slides. Ivatt Class 2MT 2-6-2T No. 41321 sits in the bay platform at Seaton station with the 13:15 departure for Uppingham on Saturday 11th June 1960. This was the last weekend of passenger services on the branch, closed from Monday 13th June 1960. LMS Ivatt 2MT 2-6-2T No. 41321 has worked the 13:15 train from Seaton to Uppingham and has now run round its single coach train before returning to Seaton on Saturday 11th June 1960. This was the final weekend of passenger services over the branch as it closed on Monday 13th June 1960. Stanier 8F 2-8-0 No. 48285 is shunting in the yard at Stewarts & Lloyds steel works in Corby, alongside the Midland main line, on Friday 10th August 1962. B&W Neg No. 123.
Hasland MPD (18C), near Chesterfield, on Sunday 12th August 1962 contains a wonderful selection of engines, from 0-4-0ST No. 47004, several 4F 0-6-0s including 44261 and possibly 44463, a couple of "Jinties" (3F 0-6-0Ts), several 8F 2-8-0s, a Horwich "Mogul" 2-6-0 ("Crab") and in the foreground a Standard 9F 2-10-0. Virtually all are in steam, being prepared for the following day's work. The shed roof had been missing for years! B&W Neg No. 132.
LMS Fowler 4MT 2-6-4T No. 42391 starts energetically away from Dore & Totley station with a stopping passenger train from Sheffield to Manchester via the Hope Valley, Monday 13th August 1962. B&W Neg No. 134.
