Off to a good start in December with some steamy action, though I still haven't managed a sunny shot of "Tornado" in blue livery... Now I have!

After stopping at Didcot Parkway station, 6201 "Princess Elizabeth" is roaring back into her stride as the train approaches Culham at 09:43 on Saturday 1st December 2012. 6201 "Princess Elizabeth" stopped for water in Hinksey Loop and is now nearing Long Hanborough at Cassington Road, once again in full roar mode with 1Z71, 08:05 from Paddington to Worcester at 10:56 on Saturday 1st December 2012. Digital Image No. GMPI13024.
LNER A1 4-6-2 No. 60163 "Tornado" is seen once again at Shrivenham in its new blue livery, but still evading the sun... Much of the wait was in beautiful light but then the cloud came over and it was obvious the smoke would blow down. It looked like the sun might reappear, so I stuck with this side of the train, but sadly the sun still refused to play. The train is 1Z31, "The Cathedrals Express", 07:22 from Ipswich to Bristol, 13:01, Saturday 1st December 2012. Digital Image No. GMPI13045.
For the second time in the course of a few days, 6201 "Princess Elizabeth" is working north at Culham, soon after sunrise. The train is 1Z70, "The Cathedrals Express", 07:10 from Slough to Chester. It was running here around 30 minutes late, which meant the sun was slightly higher in the sky! 08:49, Tuesday 4th December 2012. Digital Image No. GMPI13060.

"Princess Royal" 4-6-2 No. 6201 "Princess Elizabeth" had been running around 30 minutes late prior to the water stop at Hinksey and stops at Oxford and Banbury stations. It has now made up some time and is around 14 minutes late as it attacks the climb to Fenny Compton near Great Bourton in fine style. 56312 has been the regular loco working 6Z92 and the return 6Z91 fly ash trains from Didcot Power Staion to Calvert. After the train was unloaded at Calvert on Monday 3rd December 2012, 56312 failed whilst the train was in the loop at Claydon L&NE Junction. 56301 was on its way to Eastleigh and was diverted to rescue the train, though exactly what happened I'm not sure. Seen on Tuesday morning at Calvert at 11:04, 56312 is leading 56301 as they move along the main running line from south of the unloading gantry to collect the train from Claydon.
